ch. 5. Poetry is musical language. Poetry is categorized in several ways: by author, type of collection, literary device used, theme, etc... It's good to have a room of poetry to build interest in the children. Poetry can be about sports, which my son would like, humorous, family life, animals and many others.
Bisquit's Pet and Play Easter by Alyssa Satin Capucilli. This cute hardcover book is about a little girl and her puppy sharing Easter together. He runs with her as she finds eggs and the book is a touch and feel book, you can feel the grass, the eggs, the little chick, the butterfly and the rabbit. It's a great book for little one's to explore.
Mittens by Lola M. Schaefer. This book is about a boy that brings a new kitten home and the kitten is very shy. The whole time the boy is looking for mittens in different parts of the house and the kitten is hidding. He finally finds the kitten and holds him and comforts him and tells him he's safe.
