ch.6 Traditional literature in the classroom. These can be classified into two major categories: nonprose and prose forms. Nonprose narratives include jokes, riddles, play rhymes, short proverbs or "old sayings", ballads and nursery rhymes. Prose inclued folktales, fairytales explanetory stories, fable and legends.
The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Suess. This book is about two kids that can't go out and play because it's raining and then the cat walks in with tricks up his sleeve. He intertains the kids but makes a big mess in their house and has to clean it up with a special cleaner before their mom gets home.
Toad on the Road by Susan Schade and Jon Buller. This simple book is about a toad that takes a car trip and picks up friends along the way. He picks up one at a time as they go through town. They visit Big Burg and eat and get gas and other fun things.
